Archdiocesan Pastoral Council
(APC)
Two Parish Council members serve as delegates on the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council.
What is the APC?
It is a council that brings a laity voice to the Cardinal. Each parish sends two delegates to a local APC deanery meeting. At these meetings delegates are informed, and also join into conversation that discuss parish life issues, as well as issues that connect with the larger Church.
2005/2006 APC topics for discussions were:
- How the Church can regain its moral voice so that her social and moral teaching might be better known.
- Ways the Church can help people dealing with various addictions or compulsive behaviors.
- How parishes can continue to be a safe place for children and young people?
- Discussions regarding the clerical sexual abuse.
Parish Council is seeking parishioners to take part in future APC discussions, please leaen your name and phone number with the rectory staff ( 773-229-8523) and a Parish Council member will call you back.
