ST. RENE'S RECYCLING PROGRAM
Since 2004 St. Rene has participated in the Paper Retriever Recycling Program. The school, parish offices, parishioners and families all participate in this program in an effort to reduce landfill space while making money for the school. On a daily basis, the student recycling team empties the paper waste from the school in the green and yellow Paper Retriever bins located in the school parking lot.
About 20 cubic yards of landfill space are saved on a monthly basis from the papers recycled at St. Rene.
An added bonus of the program is the school earns about $1,500 per year from recycling paper. St. Rene receives a minimum of $15 per ton of paper. The per ton price increases as the tons collected per month increase. And with the new Ecocentive Program, we now have 2 ways to raise funds by recycling paper. St Rene earns an additional $1 for every ton collected.
Anyone can participate in St. Rene’s paper recycling program! Simply bring your old newspapers, mail, catalogs, etc to the bins located in the school’s west parking lot on 63rd Place between New England and Sayre Ave.
Thanks to everyone who supports St. Rene’s Abitibi Paper Recycling Program!
Your efforts results in raising money to help St. Rene teachers buy supplies for their classroom and our students!
Why give the city your paper recycling? It pays to put your paper waste in St. Rene’s bins!!
